Independence Hill Conservancy District logo

Formed in 1967, the residents of the original District went for years before the first sewer was installed. In 1990, the District annexed the former Lincoln Utilities sanitary system which was then under an IDEM consent decree to abandon an existing treatment plant at 73rd and Taney, and make improvements to sewer lines in the area. After the annexation, IHCD, with the help of State and Federal grants, made numerous improvements to the system. Over the years IHCD has removed the treatment plant, replaced many of the mainlines, and has recently completed lining all existing clay main lines.
